Responded to a burst outdoor frost-free spigot that was leaking into the furnace room after not being properly drained for winter. Cut out the damaged silcock, installed a new frost-free faucet, and tested it to ensure everything was sealed and working correctly.
Investigated a slow drip coming from the bathroom vanity sink and found the lav faucet leaking underneath. Confirmed the water was shut off to the fixture, checked surrounding plumbing for additional issues, and advised the homeowner to monitor the area while a restoration company handles the vanity and wall repairs.
Tested the home’s water at 25 grains per gallon and found the existing Culligan softener wasn’t working properly, causing scale buildup and staining throughout the house. Installed a new premium Robert Hill 9” water softener with a Centaur carbon filter, flushed the water heater, replaced the anode rod and T&P valve, then tested the system to ensure proper operation and no leaks.
