Air Filtration and Purification for Every Home
An air purifier is a very fine filter that can remove allergens like dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, dust mites, smoke particles and volatile organic components (VOCs) from your home's air. Air purifiers and high-efficiency filters can also reduce the need for dusting.
Types of air filters and purifiers
- HEPA air filters – HEPA air filters use the same technology as hospitals to remove airborne pollutants and contaminants. They remove 99.7% of all pollutants 0.3 microns and smaller.
- MERV filters – Air filters and air purifiers with filters are measured on the MERV scale. The higher the MERV rating, the higher the rating, the more contaminants or pollutants it removes.
- Activated carbon air purification systems – To remove things like chemical fumes, gases, cigarette smoke and odors, you need a specifically designed filter known as an activated carbon filter.
- Germicidal UV lamps – These lights are installed within your heating and cooling system to neutrelize microorganisms like bacteria, viruses and mold spores.
